Structural inspections completed on the tourist railway lines of the Sardinia Region

At the end of July, we officially concluded a project that had kept us busy for almost a year and a half: structural inspections and investigations on 366 engineering structures, distributed along 4 tourist railway lines, covering a total of 379 km – all ofwhich were travelled by our team.
The project involved preliminary inspections, geometric-structural surveys, and structural investigations for material characterisation, all aimed at safety assessments.
In particular, for the Sassari–Tempio–Palau line, ITS not only conducted preliminary investigations but also performed internal safety assessments on a total of 126 structures.
The work was primarily conducted on-site, with continuous field missions, and also included extensive back-office activities, such as drafting technical reports.
Beyond the operational and technical aspects, our team provided support to the partners of the design consortium (RTP), led by ITS as the mandataria: Breng, Proiter, Technital, Rossi, and Tecno In.
